Life wasn't always like this. - Here's a little about us, you may not have known;

There was a time just over 4 years ago when we realised life was JUST the way we wanted it but it wasn't fulfilling us.

The Australian dream was real, we had a home, Willem had a great job, we had a new car, 2 beautiful kids and I was about to become a Finance broker working from home.

Perfect right?? Well we soon opened our eyes to what was happening around us with other families jumping into the online space and starting social media accounts, while travelling Australia.

It became aparent to us that The Australian Dream was changing. AND WHY???

There are many reasons, but the main reason that we have come across and that is the same for us is, to have more quality family time.

And it sounds so cliche, but until you live this lifestyle you don't quite understand the true nature of it.

So here we are... and here are some blogs that reveal many things about us, our travels, and tips and more...

P.s. More live updates, tips and adventures are on our Facebook and Instagram

How do we afford our travels?

Main income

- I (Anneke) have a few streams of income from online work, freelancing, affiliate marketing, content creation, sponsored partnerships and from coaching social media. If you are curious about any of these shoot me a message

Other ways we can earn income

- Stopping at farms or towns and working. There is not a shortfall of jobs if you are willing and have qualifications to do so.

- Willem is rostered for FIFO jobs and can pick a roster that suits to work for a little bit.

Savings? Yes we have a lump sum of money from the sale of our house, we didn't save much before we left as we knew we'd have the house sale money and incomes coming in. the other reason is that we had a lot of outgoings for the van build and fixing house before the sale.

SO.. you're not going to see any magic budgeting from me. I hate budgeting, (although I believe it will help) and so it's not something we do. We just simply spend on necessities and try to save with things like:

Hope that helps.

Starlink vs Telco Antenna with Telstra Nighthawk M6

Starlink Vs Telco Antenna with Telstra Nighthawk M6 (newest)

This is currently a big debate among the travelling community and after testing both in the most remote places in Australia, we can give our unbiased opinion.

Firstly there is a big difference between the two.

The Telco Antenna is a receiver of radio frequencies from a nearby Telephone tower. The receiver is connected to the Nighthawk modem which has your carrier sim card in and connects to your account.

The Telco Antenna has worked well but interrupted for us when in range (5-10km) if/when in line of sight.

When we have been remote (usually when your phone says SOS only or doesn't even say SOS only), where there isn't nearby telephone towers, meaning we have no internet.
